BT6038A as Auracast

We are trying to use the BT6038A to be an Auracast one-to-many broadcast to all compatible devices, but are struggling to get any third party devices (operating in their BIS mode) to connect on the test bench.

The application is that multiple Auracast equipped devices can connect to the single Auracast broadcast provided by the BT6038A if any user wishes to listen when in range.

We are using the 3.5mm Line In jack on the Dev Board connected to an MP3 player for the test audio source

So far we have issued the following commands via the Serial app

AT+AUDMODE=1 (I assume this selects the correct mode for this kind of one-to-many broadcast?)

AT+AUXCFG=1 (I assume this selects audio provided to the Line in jack on the BT6038A Dev Board? - the switch on the pcb is also selected to "line in")

I've also tried all of the various AT+SCAN & AT+PAIR commands detailed in the programming user manual, but still no devices connect.

Do I need to select a Bluetooth profile using AT+PROFILE ?

If you could advise on listing the commands that I need to enter in order to start this testing it would be appreciated.

jimbob73 Thank you for using the BT6038A module for Auracast transmitter broadcast testing.

Your current configuration approach is correct. The complete setup procedure is as follows:

AT+PROFILE=2387 - Enable Bluetooth LE Audio protocol
AT+AUDMODE=1 - Set the module to LE Audio broadcast mode
AT+AUXCFG=1 - Select Line-In as the audio source

Regarding third-party earbuds compatibility, we have currently validated support for Xiaomi Buds 5 (equipped with Qualcomm QCC3086 chipset).

To further assist you, could you please provide the specific model information of the third-party receiving device you are using, and confirm whether it supports LE Audio functionality?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we are still having problems getting different LE Audio compatible devices to connect to the Broadcast from the BT6038A module even after carrying out the above procedure.

For testing we are using a few different devices to replicate real world public testing where people would be connecting using different devices.

We have multiples of these LE / Auracast receivers - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008817406361.html?

We are also using Starkey Genesis AI & Phonak Infinio hearing aids

All of these devices are LE Audio / Auracast ready, but non seem to connect with the broadcast from the BT6038A Module

In terms of the LE Audio Receivers, the RX LED just continues to flash on all devices indicating they are trying to pair to a TX but never goes to a constant light which would indicate they had connected.

There are some implementation variations in LE Audio technology across different manufacturers' devices. Currently, we are actively working to expand our compatibility with more devices in the market.
Based on our current testing, we have verified successful connections with the following LE Audio receivers:

FSC-BT1038A
FSC-BT1058
FSC-BT1104QI
Xiaomi Buds 5

For your immediate testing and application needs, we would recommend using these confirmed compatible devices to ensure reliable performance.

Oh Ok thanks for coming back to me. Unfortunately I suspect that the BT6038A may not be the right choice for using within the production of our end product. Our intended product is to be used in a Public Places - such as airports, trains, trams etc with potentially hundreds of people passing through the coverage area each day all with different LE Audio compatible consumer products,. We wouldn't find any mass market for a professional product with such a limited compatibility list. This isn't a hobby project.

We're expecting testing to be completed by the end of 2025, and production volumes to begin in Q1 2026.

Ideally we are looking for something with a greater degree of compatibility from now. Our own customers would be independently testing prototypes with their own sample of consumer products.
