BT1058 - Multipoint audio + BR/EDR visibility

Hi,

Im using a FSC-BT1058 module (I'll call it BT1) together with an external MCU over UART and I²S. BT1 is configured for A2DP + HFP (headset use case) and basic AT control via UART (baud/flow/etc. all working; I can change the device name, I2S config, AUTOCONN, etc. reliably).

What I want is to have two simultaneous BR/EDR devices connected:

A phone (HFP/A2DP)
An aviation radio (HFP)

Right now, if I do "AT+PAIR=1" I can see BT1 from both my phone and my laptop. As soon as the phone pairs and connects, BT1 disappears from the laptop's scan list, so I can't connect the second device. This looks like single-link headset behaviour even though the chip is advertised as supporting multiple BR/EDR connections.

My questions:

Is there a multipoint audio firmware for this module that supports one phone + one additional BR/EDR device at the same time (phone + radio)?
If yes, which PROFILE settings and AT configuration should I use to enable that scenario?
Is the behaviour of "AT+PAIR" / "AT+BTEN" I'm seeing (discoverable only when idle, hidden once one BR/EDR connection is up) expected for this firmware, or is there a way to keep BT1 visible while one HFP/A2DP link is active?

Thanks in advance for any guidance or a suitable firmware image for this use case.

martenkidd To clarify, the "one-to-many" connectivity promoted for this chip refers specifically to LE Audio broadcast, not to Classic Bluetooth audio.

Regarding your questions:

1.The FSC-BT1058 module supports connection to only one BR/EDR device at a time and does not support simultaneous dual connections.
2.The behavior you observed — becoming undiscoverable after the first connection — is the expected and normal operation for this module.
3.In the generic firmware, it is not supported to keep an HFP/A2DP link active while the module remains discoverable by other devices.

Spec says "Maximum Connections - BR/EDR: up to 7 active slaves"

There is no distinction made between HW capabilities and FW support. I'm a noob when it comes to designing with Bluetooth, and maybe I should have understood this, but I think the marketing of this device is a bit misleading. I now have custom HW built that can't do what it's supposed to do....

So you have no custom FW that can enable dual HFP-HF connections?
Do you have any other similar module that can support this?

This parameter refers to the hardware capability of the Qualcomm QCC5181 chip, which can technically support up to 7 simultaneous BR/EDR links. However, it is important to distinguish this from the functional support implemented in our firmware. The BR/EDR protocol encompasses various profiles, including SPP, HID, and HFP/A2DP for audio.

In our current general-purpose firmware version, the implemented functionality is limited to supporting only one active audio link (e.g., one HFP or A2DP connection) at a time. The module's behavior of becoming non-discoverable after establishing one connection is by design in this firmware, aligning with typical single-audio-device use cases.

We have conveyed your feedback to our R&D team. They will take your current concerns into consideration and, in future documentation updates, refine the relevant descriptions to more clearly distinguish between hardware capabilities and firmware-supported features.

Ok, thanks for the update. This is unfortunately very bad news for me.
You mentioned "current general-purpose firmware", is there any other FW version available? I'm ok with experimetal or beta firmware.
