Does FSC-BT1026 modules support A2DP source?
On the one hand, the page https://document.feasycom.com/docs/audio/BT1036_EN/latest/user-instructions.html contains the following line: "Among them, BT1026C/BT1026D only support audio sink mode, not source mode."
On the other hand, the datasheet doesn't explicitly mention that A2DP Source is not supported: https://document.feasycom.com/docs/datasheet/BT1026C/FSC-BT1026x_Datasheet_EN.pdf
And in section "3.1.11. AT+PROFILE - Bluetooth Profile Selection," it's clear that the A2DP profile can be enabled: https://document.feasycom.com/docs/audio/BT1026_EN/latest/BT1026_programming_user_guide.html

Boris We confirm that all modules in the FSC‑BT1026 series (including versions A/B/C/D/E/F) support only A2DP Sink (receiver) mode in the standard firmware.

They are designed for applications such as Bluetooth speakers or audio receiver boxes, and do NOT support A2DP Source (transmitter) mode – meaning they cannot stream audio from the module to a Bluetooth headset or speaker.

Regarding the AT command set you mentioned: although the A2DP Source option appears in the command list, this command set is based on a universal framework for multiple module series. This option is not available/valid on the BT1026 series.

If you could share your specific application scenario (for example, do you need to transmit audio from a TV/PC to headphones, or for another use?), we would be happy to recommend a more suitable module for your needs.

Dear Gavin,

We are looking for a replacement for the WT32i-E-AI Bluetooth module. Ideally, we require pin-to-pin compatibility. If this is not possible, the module dimensions must allow for installation within a footprint of no more than 15.9 x 23.9 mm using an adapter board of our own manufacture. Additionally, the specific requirements for the module are listed below. We look forward to your proposals.

(Mandatory) A2DP Source Profile: For audio broadcasting to external devices. Codec type: SBC. Audio compression must be performed internally within the module.
(Mandatory) SPP Profile: For data exchange via UART. The SPP profile must be based on Bluetooth Classic (not BLE).
(Mandatory) Simultaneous Firmware Support: Support for both A2DP and SPP profiles must be implemented in the same firmware. Modules requiring different firmware versions for these profiles are not acceptable.
(Optional) Concurrent Operation: It is preferred that A2DP Source and SPP profiles can operate simultaneously, though this is not a mandatory requirement.
(Optional) OPP/OBEX Profile: It is desirable to have OPP/OBEX profile support for file transfers to Android devices without additional software. Proposals for modules without OPP support are also acceptable.
(Optional) Analog Input / I2S: Presence of an internal ADC for direct connection of a LINE_IN stereo input. Options with an I2S interface are also acceptable; in the latter case, the I2S codec will be placed on the adapter board.
(Mandatory) Power Supply: Nominal voltage of 3.3V. The module must operate within the 3.0V – 3.6V range. The supply voltage must remain within the safe operating area.
(Mandatory) Control & Data Interface: Must be handled via UART (3.3V logic).
(Mandatory) Hardware Flow Control: The UART interface must support hardware flow control using RTS/CTS signals.
(Mandatory) External Antenna: Presence of a U.FL connector for an external antenna. We will also consider options where a U.FL connector is soldered onto the adapter board.
(Mandatory) Temperature Range: Industrial grade (starting from –40°C).
(Mandatory) Control Method: Management via AT commands or a similar system (i.e., no external Bluetooth stack development required).
(Mandatory) Lifecycle Status: The product must be "In Production" (no NRND, EOL, or Obsolete status).
